Programs

Monday

Woman to Woman:

While operating Trinity Center it was obvious to us that there are much less services offered to homeless women at the same time as we understood them to be the more vulnerable and at risk population. Since 2005, Trinity Center has operated a Monday program for homeless women, creating a safe and welcoming environment away from the streets and offering a free wardrobe for our female neighbors. As in all other days of operation, a breakfast and sack lunches are offered as well. About 50 women participate.

Tuesday

Women to Women:

Since March of 2010 we added a second day for women only on Tuesday, at which time women are offered financial assistance (on a lottery once a month system) aimed at assisting them to acquire lost identity such as birth certificate, State ID card or Driver license, bus pass and/or co-pay for prescribed medication. Our financial assistance, although limited, is aimed at helping our neighbors achieve goals of gaining stability and moving out of homelessness. Every Tuesday, we also have a Shower Program where neighbors, after signing up, can take a private shower - towels and toiletries are provided.

A case worker from the ACCESS (ATCIC/MHMR) program is available to meet with neighbors, serve those coping with mental health concerns, and perform intakes. Sunday

Trinity Streets:

On Sunday afternoon we act as the church for people experiencing homelessness with a service that is offered alternately by different churches and is followed with a meal. Many of the neighbors do not feel welcome in the regular Sunday services in town. By setting up the center as a communal place to worship, with a service, music, meal and a collaboration with other spiritual services’ providers we “walk the walk” of loving our neighbors as ourselves. There are usually 80-100 people who come to our Sunday services.
